It's been awhile since I haven't blogged. This time I wanted to do something different. I wanted to dedicate a few blogs to essential workers and share their story.
This blog is very dear to me because I want to share Maria's story. Maria and I have been friends since elementary school and I am so proud of her accomplishments!
Maria started her business after she worked as a Kindergarten teacher for 15 years. During those years she has been so dedicated to her class, but when she needed to take a "me" day, it was so hard to do so. She then decided to go for it and be her own boss and take charge. Maria then started to clean her first apartment than thanks to the magic of social media, she started getting appointments every day, sometimes even twice a day. She worked day in and day out and is very thankful to social media for putting her on the map. Maria started getting referrals after referrals and before she knew it she had full schedules.
Putting her blood, sweat and tears and years of aches and pain; Maria finally had an amazing list of customers who treated her more like family and she finally has accomplished her dream of becoming her own boss!
In 2018, she got a job working nights for a medical facility. For the first year she kept her day customers and then worked nights. She decided to hire staff but unfortunately, that didn't work out so she worked day and night trying to keep everyone happy. Maria later decided to take it easy during the day to take care of herself and her children which has been such an amazing blessing.
The biggest lesson is work for what you want and anything is possible; you just have to hustle. The most important thing of starting her business was that she was able to be home for her children which is so important.
Maria offers home cleaning, construction clean up, public establishments and realtor clean outs. Now with the corona virus, her job has become a priority to make sure she keeps the medical facilities and staff safe and she is so proud of being on that front line.
